The purpose of this document is to present the results of minimum radiological protection calculations required for the installation of electrical equipment for the production and use of X-rays.

The formulas and data used to carry out these calculations are taken from the new standard NF C 15-160 of March 2011 [1], amended and supplemented by the additional requirements laid down by the Nuclear Safety Authority (ASN) in Decision No 2017-DC-0591 approved by the decree of September 29 2017 [2].

1.1. Facilities concerned
This document concerns X-ray radiological installations for the production and use of X-rays, operating at a high voltage of 600 kV or less, regardless of their use: medical (including dental), veterinary, industrial or scientist.

1.2. Aims and Objectives
In the case of a new installation, this study will define the minimum protections required for the walls, ceiling and floor.
In the case of an installation modification, this study will validate the existing protections or, failing that, indicate the additional protections to be installed for each wall, ceiling and floor.
